{Media Invite} A Paw-Some Time this September Holidays at City Square Mall
Do you have any idea who these guys are? Well, I did not. Until probably a year or 2 ago, when the boys started talking to me about Chase and "no job is too big, no pup is too small!".
And so, it began our journey of learning a new cartoon called Paw Patrol.
Fairly new to many, their first 'Live' Show in Asia at City Square Mall is a hit! I see so many friends bringing their children to catch it. If you had not watched it, it is still ongoing till 11 September 16.
Sometimes I wonder if D will outgrow watching such live shows. Even if he does, I should not deprive E of it since we had been to live shows with D when he was 5 years old. Just so glad that D enjoyed it too.
Come get a photo with Marshall, Chase and Ryder with a minimum spend of S$50 (terms and conditions apply). Meet and Greet passes redemption is at the Level 2 Customer Service Counter, one hour prior to each live show. Limited to 50 passes per session, it is something not to be missed, especially if you are already there for the show.
It seems like Paw Patrol is the favourite cartoon show for children these days. The crowd at City Square Mall is simply unbelievable.
I reached at about 11.45am for the 1pm show and yes, I was already sitting around the imaginary third row. At 1pm, every little gap was filled up and I see people standing on the second level. It is how interesting to note what children can do to watch their favourite cartoon characters. Of course, tablets help. Thus, if you want a good view, be early! Very very early. Don't say I never tell you. :D
And once the show starts at 1pm, I hear the screams and shouts when Marshall and Chase appear. And many children gamely stood up and danced when asked to. D and E did not and sometimes I wonder if it is because they are shy.
There is a furry fun carnival at the outdoor park. Till 9 October, bring your cameras for photos with life-size Paw Patrol's vehicles. There are other activities like the inflatable Dog Pirate Ship and other fun-filled activities. We did not get a chance to have fun at the carnival as B was not feeling too well. But I am glad that at least, we manage to catch the live show and had photos taken with the Paw-Some pals!
Time to make a date with the outdoor park before 9 October.
Paw Patrol Ready for Action 'Live' show
Date: 3 to 11 September
Time: 2pm & 7pm (Tue - Fri); 1pm, 4pm & 7pm (Sat & Sun)
Venue: Level 1 Atrium

Pedestrian Night - Christmas on A Great Street
The Pedestrian Night initiative, organised by Orchard Road Business Association (ORBA) and supported by Singapore Tourism Board (STB) has been a hit such that it will be extended to February 2016.
I have been to two such Pedestrian Nights, which usually falls on the first Saturday of the month. At each Pedestrian Night, the stretch between Scotts Road and Bideford Road will be closed to vehicular traffic from 6pm to 11pm, allowing visitors to walk freely along the road and experience an array of bustling activities.
I really like this concept because how often do we get a chance to walk around freely on one of the busiest road in Singapore? And how often will he be able to be up so high in the middle of a road? :D
The most recent Pedestrian Night which happened last Saturday, 5 December 2015 was Christmas-themed.
So glad the rain stopped in time! While waiting for the street to be opened for humans to walk...
ION Orchard has some really nice Christmas decorations.
It is open!!!! Everyone's busy taking photos, selfies, welfies. As the night grows dark, the lights look more obvious and prettier.
When there is something free, there is always a queue. I actually heard someone saying, "Singaporeans really love to queue". :)
Maybe, what they did not know was that some of the rewards or freebies come from downloading the OneOrchard App and signing up for an account. This App also allows shoppers to download shopping vouchers and make purchases from some of Orchard Road's biggest brands. Ehhhh, when there are good promotions, why not? Most of us want a good deal, don't we?
Street buskers out performing - street magic, balloon sculpturing etc..
This guy was pretty funny. It is a pity some of us do not give compliments or applause generously.
The boys were asking why the roads can be closed. Each Pedestrian Night is a new experience and it is always refreshing to bring them around to such activities that happen once in a while and soak in the atmosphere of whatever is the theme of the activity / event.
A must-have family shot at the end of the stretch of the road.
Last but not least, I must, of course, make full use of the "receive $20 Metro Gift Voucher with a minimum purchase of $100 nett in a single receipt from 6pm - 9.30pm at Metro". Only on Pedestrian Night. :)

Activity stations. Mostly played by children. Skipping ropes, hopscotch, tower of happiness (Jenga-alike game), twister, beach balls and many more.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens at VivoCity
{Media Invite}
Excited, we are.
Especially when it involves Lego and Star Wars. From now till 20 December 2015, catch a glimpse of the Ultimate Millennium Falcon crafted by six adult fans of Lego from Titan Creations, the 6.2 by 2.4 metres mural made of Lego bricks and of course, the ten life-sized Stormtroopers at VivoCity Atrium. Entrance is free!
Let the photos do the "talking"!
Each of us manage to help complete a tiny weeny part of the largest wall mural made of Lego bricks. This wall mural sets a new record in the Singapore Book of Records! Come, take a photo with it!
Looking at these makes me feel like collecting all of them! Haha!
Lots of Star Wars merchandise available for everyone to purchase. You know where to go if you are buying a Christmas present for a Star Wars fan.
Apart from this 360 square metre exhibition, VivoCity also brings you the 107 ft Christmas tree at the Sky Park on Level 3. From now till 25 Dec 15 at 7.30pm, 8.30pm (except 24 Dec 15) and 9.30pm, be enchanted by the pulsing light show choreographed to a medley of thematic songs.
And this, will probably be why you are spending that much in VivoCity. :) May the Force be with you!

Ever ready to take a photo with us. Happy, we were.
Lots of exhibits and photo opportunities.
A Lego x Star Wars fan should not and must not miss this! Larger than the Lego-produced UCS Millennium Falcon, this "My Own Creation" measures 110cm by 85cm. Also, spot and guess why Han Solo is seated on the right side of the cockpit, instead of the usual left. We know. Do you?
The Electronic Arts Star Wars Battlefront will be a hit with children and teenagers. Adults too, I'm sure!
Looking at these makes me feel like collecting all of them! Haha!

Sesame Street? Peppa Pig? 5 Etiquette Tips When Watching "Live" Shows
Every yearend, there will be plenty of "live" shows, meet and greets going on in the shopping malls.
As it is also the school holidays, such shows are usually jam packed with lots of people and very excited children.
We have been attending many shows and for the benefit of each child who wait in participation to see their favorite characters on stage, I compiled what we think should be the etiquette when catching such shows at the malls. Each person's perspective differ and I do not mean you have to agree though.
1. There are some very popular shows that we will definitely see the seating area in front of the stage starting to be filled up as early as 1.5 hours before the show starts. If you want to have the best views, arrive early.
2. Do not hoard places. It is fine if one is reserving the area for 2-3 pax as we know that children tend to be restless and need a walk around. However, please do not 'chope' an area that can sit a kampong.
3. People arrive early because they wanted the view they deem best. If one is late, please do not demand and insist that the child can squeeze into that tiny space (although it is obviously impossible to sit in that tiny space without making others sitting uncomfortably) just so that he/she can be right in front of the stage.
4. Never stand when everyone is sitting. Especially so when there is someone behind who is seated. There is no reason why the parent needs to stand and carry the child, saying the child is unable to see the characters on stage if seated. One of the reasons why the characters are so huge is so that everyone can see them.
5. Many understand that some children can not sit still. However, while parents entertain them by carrying them up and down, dancing them around, please remember that the space is very limited. Be careful not to elbow, knee kick or hit another child while doing all those.
So, hopefully most of us remember that such free shows are meant to be enjoyed and let's all be considerate to fellow parents and let the little children have fun while we go around chasing the shows this December.
Check here for a list of where to go, who to see and what to do this December.
